A poor young man and the pasha's daughter in the same city fell in love with an impossible love. When the young lovers were forced to separate, they began to communicate with each other only through flowers without speaking. The poor young man would constantly pass by the garden of his beloved like a traveler and every time he passed, he would pick up various bouquets of flowers from the garden of the pasha's daughter and continue on his way. This is how this language began to form. In the Ottoman Empire, when there was no opportunity to meet or when special messages were to be given, each flower was loaded with a meaning and an emotion.
